TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL PACKAGE
The Booking:
Your contract is with MERAKI ITINERARIES. A contract exists between us when we have confirmed you on our tour of your choice and we have received your signed booking form and deposits. All the relevant section must be correctly and fully completed. We can only accept booking form signed as this confirms that you and other people on the tour accept our booking terms and condition and are entering into the contract.
Payments:
For all the services contracted, certain advance payment should be made to hold the booking, on confirmed basis & the balance amount can be paid 30 days prior for International and 15 days prior for domestic tours. Management personnels hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as advance payment, based on the nature of the service & the time left for the commencement of the service.
Apart from above in some cases like Special Train Journeys, hotels or resorts bookings during the peak season (X-Mas, New Year), and for last minute bookings full payment is required to be sent in advance.
INCLUSIONS AND EXCKUSIONS to be agreed as mentioned in quotation and/or an email.
We require valid government identity proof or passport and PAN copies to confirm the booking.
Early Check-in / Late Check -out
Please note that standard check-in / Checkout time in most hotels is depends upon Hotel policy. Therefore cost of early check-in or late check-out is not included in the tour cost. We can always make a request for early check-in or late checkout if required but we do not guarantee that, that entirely depend upon the policy of the hotel, time of the year and availability of the room.
Extra Uses of our Vehicle
Please note that cost of the vehicle (car / coaches with the driver) does not include extra usage of vehicle like after transfer or after sightseeing until or unless it is mentioned in the itinerary.
ENTRY & EXIT FEES:
Some countries, airports, or ports may require the payment of entry or exit fees, border crossing fees, or other taxes or fees upon arrival or departure, which must be paid directly by the traveler and cannot be included in our package prices. You are responsible for payment of these fees. In some cases, these may be paid by credit card, but others may only be payable in local currency. We do our best to inform you of such fees when you book and/or prior to travel, but we are not responsible for omissions or errors.
Rights to amend the itinerary if required
Tour once commenced will strictly go as per the itinerary finalized. In case of events and circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to change all or parts of the contents of the itinerary for safety and well-being of our esteemed passengers. In addition, itinerary change request will only be attended before booking confirmation only.
Our Liabilities and Limitations
The MERAKI ITINERARIES shall, in no circumstances whatsoever be liable to the client or any person travelling with him or her for: Any death, personal injury, sickness accidents, loss delay, discomfort, increased expenses, consequential loss and / or damage or theft howsoever caused;
Any act, omission, default of any independent contractor or other person or by any servant or agents employed by them who may be engaged or concerned in the provision of accommodation, refreshment, carriage facility or service for the client or for any person travelling with him howsoever caused. MERAKI ITINERARIES shall unable to take liability for commercial arrangements out of our control such as natural disasters, industrial disputes, reason of threat or war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activities, technical problems to the transport, extreme weather conditions, closure of the airports and sea ports and similar event out of our control, or are due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control.
All itineraries are sample itineraries, intended to give you a general idea of the likely trip schedule. Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of the participants etc. may dictate itinerary changes either before the tour or while on the trail. We reserve the right to change any schedule in the interest of the trip participants’ safety, comfort & general well-being.
Our rates are based on the prevailing rates as negotiated by us with the hotels, airlines etc. Hotels and Airlines retain the right to modify the rates without notice. In case of such changes the rates quoted before the modification, can be changed by us according to the modifications by hotels or airlines. All hotel bookings are based on usual check in and check out time of the hotels until unless indicated in the itinerary.
We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the programme or expenses incurred – directly or indirectly – due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipments, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.
We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting – directly or indirectly – from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes beyond our control.
We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. All baggage & personal property/s at all times are at the client’s risk.
Please Note: We will not be responsible for any costs arising out of unforeseen circumstances like landslides, road blocks, bad weather, etc.
FORCE MAJEURE: Certain unexpected circumstances may arise, such as (but not limited to) weather events, pandemics, quarantines, border closures, acts of governments or authorities, wars, hostilities, political uprisings or civil disturbances, riots, strikes, terrorist activities or the threat of terrorist activities, criminal acts committed by third parties, defects of vehicles or breakdown in equipment, or an Act of God, that are beyond anyone’s control, which force a cancellation or disruption of services. These circumstances are considered a force majeure. We will not be held responsible or liable in any way for such events, including death, bodily injury, illness, damage, delay, or other losses caused by such events. While we will always strive to assist our travelers wherever they are in the world when such circumstances occur, any losses or costs resulting from these events will be the responsibility of the traveler.
LOCAL LAWS: During travel, you must always comply with the laws and regulations of all places visited. Committing any illegal act may result in your removal from a tour and put you at risk of fines or punishment by local authorities, for which we cannot be held responsible.
Terms and Conditions:
- Airline / Room / Cabin Upgrades are not included unless specifically mentioned in writing by MERAKI ITINERARIES.
- MERAKI ITINERARIES will not be responsible for Non-Granting of VISA, Late filing of VISA, Late Receipt of VISA, VISA with Wrong name, VISA with wrong dates as that the VISA was requested.
- If the air ticket has to be changed for any reasons, then there will be cancellation charges and penalties which the delegate has to pay to so that a fresh ticket is issued or the earlier ticket is modified.
- The Package cost is the Total cost, in any case, MERAKI ITINERARIES will not provide any Separate Hotel, Air Ticket as supporting document to justify the charges (package/cancellation).
- Bifurcation of cost of Package shall not be provided at any cost before departure or post completion of the tour.
- Early Check In / Late Check Out are not included and are subject to availability. In case the same is required it will be at an additional cost – Quote does not include mineral water, alcohol in room, at meals, during transfers.
- Sightseeing is not included in the cost of the package unless mentioned.
- As you are aware most of the countries charge for mineral water and in case, it is needed on transfers & sightseeing an additional it will have to be paid for in addition to the tour price. All Hotels do not have tea/coffee making facility in room. The same differs hotel-to- hotel and city-to-city.
- Lunch and Dinner is not included in the package, unless it is agreed in writing by MERAKI ITINERARIES.
- In some cities, countries, restaurants close early, especially in Scandinavian countries and north eastern Indian cities.
- Hence, dining late in a restaurant for meals is totally subject to the terms & conditions of the hotel / restaurant used. It will be requested but cannot be guaranteed.
- Any inconvenience caused due to late arrival / misplacement / loss of luggage MERAKI ITINERARIES or its staff will not be responsible for it.
- Package prices are subject to change with the increase in the costs without any prior notice and MERAKI ITINERARIES reserves the right to change the prices.
- Please check your flight schedule for number of stops.
- Price does not include items of personal nature such as tips, misc. expenses, laundry, liquor, porterage etc.
- Rates include only those items listed in itinerary.
- If passengers do not arrive or depart with the group, additional charges will be incurred fare.
- A group can be split in 2 or more Groups on 2 or more separate coaches for transfers.
- In case of currency fluctuations of more than 3% or amendment in local Government taxes, we reserve the right to adjust the tour price accordingly.
- All arrangements made by MERAKI ITINERARIES are in the capacity of an agent only. MERAKI ITINERARIES will not be liable for claims or expenses arising from circumstances beyond our control such as accidents, injuries, delayed or canceled flights & acts or forces of nature.
Gift Items:
- If you are carrying gifts or items for distribution, then it is subject to customs regulations and it is at the sole discretion of custom authority at respective airport for allowing it to be taken inside the country of travel offering duty exemption. Duties or gratuities if any will be payable by the Corporate
Excess Luggage:
- Allowing excess luggage is subject to airline approval, other than the amount specified. If there are any charges for the same, they have to be borne by the delegate/passenger.
Wildlife Safaris cancellation:
All the wildlife safaris booked into any of Indian Wildlife National Park/Sanctuaries are non-refundable. Even date change request will be considered as cancellation and no payment will be refunded/ adjusted against it.
Please go through the same carefully as any additional service will result in a supplement cost added to the package price.
Travel Insurance:
- Health Insurance or Travel Insurance will not be provided by the MERAKI ITINERARIES, every delegate has to get their own insurance policy by themselves.
- In case of visa process, on a request by the delegate or his authorized representative, insurance is provided by them, in such case if any insurance claim then the delegate or authorized representative has to directly contact the insurance company
- MERAKI ITINERARIES: The Company and staff is not responsible for any dispute or claim with insurance company.
CANCELLATION:
How do I cancel my booking?
The delegate (Delegate themselves, Accompanying Spouse, Child) must cancel in writing (by email or photograph of written cancellation request) and the charges shown below apply from the date we receive the written intimation.
Any dispute arising under the above policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Pune, India
Refund in case of Death
- The following procedures will apply when a delegate dies or is prevented from initiating or continuing or terminating travel by reason of death in the immediate family.
- Immediate family: Shall be limited to spouse, children, parents and siblings.
- Death Certificate: Means a death certificate or copy thereof duly executed by the competent authorities, i.e., those designated to issue death certificates by the applicable laws of the country concerned, in the country in which death occurred. The death certificate or copy thereof shall remain on the member’s files for a period of not less than two years.
- Before commencement of travel: In case of death of a passenger or death in the immediate family before commencement of travel, refund amount is only pay after receiving the death certificate
After commencement of travel:
Death of a Delegate:
- In case of death of a delegate refund may be arranged after receiving the death certificate.
- Accompanying delegate may terminate travel or interrupt travel until completion of formalities and religious customs, if any, but in no event later than forty-five (45) days after the travel is interrupted
Complaints
We do our best to give passengers travelling on any of our holidays, an enjoyable and trouble free vacation but occasionally plans go wrong. Should you have any complaint, please inform and we will do everything possible to resolve the matter immediately. If the situation is not resolved soonest. Any disputes between clients and MERAKI ITINERARIES shall be governed by Jurisdiction on Pune, India.
Confirmation of the trip or any service as such would be provided only after payment and / or settlement of the TOTAL amount of travel package.
All disputes are subject to Pune Jurisdiction.
